Sponsoring our Contests

Then why not sponsor one of our contests? You don't need to offer a photography-related prize or even have a photography-related website. And the only cost to you is your cost of the prize(s) given to the winners. You can be a large corporation, a small business or unemployed. We're not too picky about who you are or what you have to offer!

Now that you're interested in sponsoring a ShutterBugs contest, here's what you need to know:

• We will place your banner linked to your website on our homepage below the contest you are sponsoring for the duration of the contest (usually 2 weeks). We also place a linked banner on the Previous Sponsors page, and in the contest description that you are sponsoring. Banner sizes should be 468x60 or smaller.
• Sponsors promoting pornography, gambling, illegal activities or anything Shutterbugs deems inappropriate will not be accepted.
• You will need to offer a prize for the First place winner. You may also offer more prizes for runners up. Everybody loves generosity!
• Prizes must be approved by Shutterbugs before we agree on the contest terms.
• Prizes should be sent in advance to before your sponsored contest runs. Unless we trust you, then we'll let you send the prize.
• Anyone found guilty of not sending a prize will be called a looser and everyone will hate you.
• You can suggest a theme for the contest you sponsor or let us pick.
• Sponsored contests can be Photography, Digital Manipulations, Longer Duration or a combination of the three. If sponsoring more than one contest, you will need to supply at least one prize for each contest sponsored.
• The rules will be decided upon between the Sponsor (you) and Shutterbugs (me-Christine.)
• The contestants have 7-14 days to submit entries, unless you request a contest extension. The entries will be visible during this period.
• At the end of the submission period, the public has 7-14 days to vote, but this can be flexible. You may vote for your favorite(s), if you want.
• The artist is then sent the prize by Shutterbugs (or by you if you're found to be trustworthy.)
• The Sponsor now owns the full rights to the winning entry which can be used on the Sponsor's website.

What do you mean you don't have anything to offer? Let me give you some ideas:

• Chocolate. And lots of it!
• Photographic supplies of any kind
• Books of just about any kind or a magazine subscription
• Gift Certificates
• Cars
• Clothes/hats/accessories
• Home decor
• Computer items
• A charitable contribution to a good cause made in the winners name
• Whatever gizmo, doodad or service you offer online
• Feature the winning photo prominently on your website, eZine, newsletter, etc.
